Part-Time Program Coordinator

Congregation Ohab Zedek, a historic & dynamic synagogue on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, seeks a part-time Program Coordinator (up to 20 hours per week) to manage our programs & events calendar, and coordinate social media & promotional activities. 

The Program Coordinator reports to the Executive Director, and will work closely with our Senior Rabbi, Office Manager, Events Manager, Youth Director, and related committees.

The position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Organize,  maintain, and update the program calendar with input and coordination with key stakeholders - this includes (but is not limited to) weekly classes, special lectures/ series, youth programming, women’s programming, wellness programming, Friday night dinners, holiday schedules and programming, scholar in residence weekends, etc.
  • Coordinate the creation of promotional materials for programs (eg canva) - flyers, posters, social media posts - and manage the mailings, and registration pages (shul cloud)
  • Coordinate the creation of  the weekly & quarterly print and digital newsletters (powerpoint & shul cloud), and other special event publications such as the Yizkor Book and Annual Dinner Journal.
  • Manage the OZ Website and related Social Media pages
  • Curate event photos, videos, and flyers
  • Record and publish the Rabbi's, Teachers, and faculty & guest Classes and the Rabbi's Weekly Instagram Post
  • Publish articles and press releases as needed
  • Partner with local synagogues and organizations when necessary. 
  • Strategize our Social Media use and reach

Requirements

  • Excellent communication & collaboration skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Technology proficiency
  • Social Media Savvy
  • Knowledge of Jewish Community and Orthodox customs
  • Familiarity with the Upper West Community preferred 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Canva, FaceBook, Instagram, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, ShulCloud, YUTorah, Zoom, and other related platforms

Salary range of $12,000 - $24,000 based on experience and time commitment required

Temporary Part-Time Office Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Temporary Part-Time Office Assistant to provide vital administrative support to our synagogue. This role is perfect for individuals looking for a short-term position while contributing to the efficient operation of our office. The Office Assistant will play a crucial role in handling phone calls, managing mail, and assisting with various administrative tasks - especially during high volume seasons, like the High Holidays or before our Annual Dinner. A welcoming attitude and strong organizational skills are crucial.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Answering & Routing Phone Calls, and taking messages
  • Sorting incoming and outgoing mail
  • Filing, Scanning, Printing, Data Entry, and other vital office functions
  • Greeting members and visitors
  • Tracking event registrations
  • Collaborating on special projects as assigned
