Dear Friends
Whew! What a year...and thanks to so many of you, OZ not only survived, but thrived! Last year, we were the last to close and the first to reopen, and because of our adherence to protocol, no one(!) spread Covid in shul. We have reason to be very proud.
Just look at what we accomplished--we refinished the pews; refinished the lobby and stairwells (notice that the ugly morass of wiring has disappeared?); repaired a leaky roof; spent countless hours with architects, engineers and contractors in the middle of the pandemic, finalizing and filing plans for the new Beis Medrash and the infrastructure repair; beautiful new bathrooms for the women upstairs; new carpet; assumed responsibility for the Park West outdoor minyan; started the outdoor succah minyan; and of course, lots of Zoom shiurim and programming.
We are dedicating the Dinner...to you! YOU MADE THIS ALL POSSIBLE! THANKS!
I invite ALL of you to join us for a virtual dinner with MODI for an hour of laughs and comedy. The rabbi and I will speak for just a few minutes- that's it-I promise!- and then we can sit back and enjoy.
As you know, this is a critical fundraiser for our operating budget- it literally pays for the air conditioning, heat and electricity- so please be generous.
In a short time, you will be returning to a shul, beautifully restored, with a Beis Medrash where you will be proud to host simchas. Prior generations have bequeathed us a magnificent shul, and YOU and YOUR GENERATION will have ensured OZ's success and beauty for the next 50 years.
No joke- I'm proud of you! Yasher Koyach.
Ari Weitzner
President
PS- What could be more wonderful than to have your and beloved's names on a beautiful plaque, forever, on your pew? For $7500- $156 a month for four years- it's yours. Let future generations know you were counted on and came through for the Capital Campaign (this is separate from the Dinner campaign).
