Happiness: Choosing to See Beyond Imperfections

Sarah Stambler recently retired after 42 years running her digital marketing business, E-Tactics, where her husband, Shlomo Bar-Ayal, worked with her for 30 years. Born in Crown Heights, Sarah moved to Manhattan in her late teens. She earned an MA in Italian at Columbia University, aspiring to become an Italian professor, but later transitioned to writing. She authored one of the first Women’s Liberation books, Women’s Liberation: Blueprint for the Future, as well as four plays (one produced off-off-Broadway) and two novellas, becoming a finalist in major competitions. In the early 1980s, a career shift led her to technical writing, with The New York Times as her first client. Around the same time, Sarah became a ba’alat teshuva, reconnecting with Orthodoxy, Shabbat, and the vibrant Jewish community. To her surprise, Sarah found her beshert with a touch of mystical help, getting engaged just four days after meeting him.
