Rabbi Nathaniel (Nati) Helfgot is the Chair of the Department of Talmud and Rabbinics at SAR High School and the rabbi of Congregation Netivot Shalom in Teaneck, NJ.
He is also on the adjunct faculty of YCT Rabbinical School, Drisha Institute for Jewish Education and the Wexner Heritage Foundation.
Rabbi Helfgot has been a leader in the Rabbinical Council of America (RCA), The International Rabbinic Fellowship, and the Orthodox Caucus and Orthodox Forum sponsored by Yeshiva University. He is also one of the few American members of the Beit Hillel rabbinic organization in Israel.
He is the author of of a number of volumes including Community, Covenant and Commitment: Selected Letters and Communications of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik (2006) and most recently Mikra and Meaning: Studies in Bible and Its Interpretation (2013). He was a close student of Rabbi Aharon Lichtenstein zt"l and has been involved in translating and bringing some of his writings to print. In addition, he has served as editor of several journals both in English and Hebrew. He is a frequent speaker at synagogues and adult education programs throughout the country and Canada.
