Hashkama Minyan | Rabbi Blanchard's Blurb
Life is not just staying put. Sometimes we are in motion. And when we are on the road, we are most often looking for something--a moment of beauty, an interesting encounter, an unexpected insight. Finding what we seek takes a lot of patience. We have to learn to wait, to be open to the unexpected appearance of a intellectual-emotional-spiritual moment when things fall into place. Even then there is always an imperfection in our vision, an anomaly or a craziness in our world which reminds us that we need to continue our journey, that we can not just settle down with "our truth". For in that moment, and just for that moment, we must surrender the past, we must refuse to look back toward where we have been and only look forward toward where this present encounter or vision is taking us. If we don't, we fix and harden. But if we do push on forward into what is yet unknown, then despite even grave errors, we will create new realities---imperfect realities to be sure, but--please excuse the cliche-- they will be steps toward a better world.
