Hashkama Minyan - Rabbi Blanchard's Blurb
  • Each generation inherits the world from the generation before it. As individuals too, we inherit the responsibilities of those who came before us. Sometimes, there is even a moment in which we feel appointed to these tasks. And, at those moments, as we sense those before us passing away, we seek the inspiration that continuing the "mission" requires.
  • We want to be inspired. This may not happen as explicitly as we might like, but somehow the previous generation may find a way to encourage us. Knowing that my father was dying, I made what both of us knew was my last visit. Talking about his imminent death, my father said " I am at peace with it. I have had an interesting life.". Then he paused, looked me in the eye and said " Come to think of it, you have an interesting life too. "
  • Reflections on Deuteronomy 31:14 and Rashi's commentary on it
