  • As our lives change, we are always saying good bye to the old and welcoming in the new--good bye to childhood and schooling, good bye to the old job and to lost relationships, good bye to mistakes, bad deeds and failures. However good or necessary our past was, we still want to leave behind its costs and limits. We want to correct our errors, grow as people and achieve more without the burden of our limits and wrongdoing, intentional or otherwise. How do we do this? What actions or ceremonies facilitate these transitions, lessen the ongoing negative costs and open the door to new possibilities?
