While driving yesterday at twilight, I was asked by my grandson what was that yellow banana emerging on the horizon over the Mediterranean.
It was amazing.
The tiniest sliver of moon I had ever seen was rising in the waning minutes of Rosh Chodesh.
It reminded me of the monthly workings of the Sanhedrin to assure that world Jewry would celebrate the holidays in a timely fashion and that such workings were done not far from here.
We’re spending Shabbos at Beit Elazraki and we send our love from a place that exudes chesed and kindness.
An interesting fact about Israel: She is the only country on Earth that had more trees in the year 2000 than in 1900.
Stay well and healthy.

HASHKAMA - RABBI BLANCHARD'S BLURB
We accept that there will likely be disappointments in our lives, both for the people we care about and for us. We worry about relationships and health; we imagine successes and failures. And we are deeply concerned about the moral and spiritual quality, not only of our own lives but also of the lives of those we love and care about. We accept that there will always be ups and downs, but we want to believe that the people we love will live worthwhile lives--lives of which they can justly be proud.
