Scholar in Residence

Dr. Yitzhak Conforti is a Professor at the Israel and Golda Koschitzky department of Jewish History at Bar Ilan University. Yitzhak is a scholar of modern Jewish history, Jewish nationalism, and Zionism. He is the author of: Past Tense – Zionist Historiography and the Shaping of the Zionist Memory [in Hebrew] (Jerusalem: Yad Ben-Zvi 2006) which won the Hecht prize and the Ish Shalom prize. And: Shaping a Nation: The Cultural Origins of Zionism (Jerusalem: Yad Ben-Zvi, 2019). He was a visiting professor at Oxford University, U-Penn and NYU. He has published extensively on modern Jewish historiography, History and Memory, Jewish Nationalism and Zionism. You are invited to follow his publications on ACADEMIA.EDU.
