Starting in December, a new series of CSS security classes will be given. Experience is not required, and women and men are invited to volunteer. The proven practical security methods and protocols you will learn will greatly increase both your security and the security of the community as a whole. 8 weeks of courses are split into a 2 week Level 1 introductory course, which can be taken by itself, followed by a 6 week Level 2 series. Level 1 covers only theory, Level 2 includes both theory and physical training. Present CSS members who have so far taken only Level 1 can begin the series with Level 2. This course is administered by CSS, which will screen then admit candidates.
Bear in mind, our paid security detail is no substitute for the personal knowledge this training will provide. The more volunteers we have, the fewer rotations that will be required of us. And remember, all volunteers who successfully complete these courses and regularly rotate will be waived the OZ Annual Security Fee.

Community Security Service (CSS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit Jewish security organization run by dedicated, professional members of the Jewish community. CSS members are highly trained professionals who volunteer to help protect Jewish life and the Jewish way of life in the United States. CSS is apolitical and non-denominational in focus and works hand-in-hand with law enforcement and the organized Jewish community to provide a qualitatively better approach to community security.
The organization proactively protects Jewish synagogues and organizational events. CSS partners with these established organizations, trains each membership base in professional security techniques and oversees operations. Additionally, CSS promotes public awareness about security threats to the American Jewish community.
