Dear OZ family,

As is so often the case, the venomous hatred of those who despise Israel is stronger than their support for the people they purport to favor. This was the case when these haters forced the closing of the SodaStream factory  a few years back, causing a loss of employment to hundreds of Palestinians. This was the case when Ben & Jerry’s singled out Israel from all disputed areas in the world for its boycott and divestment. These are plain and obvious cases of anti-Semitism and the name doesn’t change if some Jews are behind it. This ancient hatred has reared its head again with the targeting of the Iron Dome defense system in the House of Representatives’ budget negotiaitions. The Iron Dome has saved hundreds of Israeli and Arab lives from indiscriminate Hamas and Hezbolah rocket fire, and has allowed Israel to exercise unequaled restraint in responding to the terrorist attacks on its population centers.

Remember the timeless words of Golda Meir who said we would have peace when the Arabs love their children more than they hate us. What can we say about a society that glorifies in violence, that teaches its youngest children to prepare for everlasting war until every inch of Israel is conquered? What can we say about parents who are proud of suicide martyrs who feel they are guaranteed a glorious paradise by killing innocent Israeli civilians? What can we say about members of our government whose hatred of Israel outweighs their sense of fairness and human decency? Let us be sure that our own elected officials speak up about this latest outrage against Israel. Act now.
