Dear OZ family,

Today I can wish everyone a Boker tov, a Shavua Tov, a Chodesh Tov, and a Shana Tova all on the same day.

Each day, God grants us 86,400 seconds of life, and it only takes a few of them to say a kind word, or to brighten someone’s day, or just to spread good will with a smile.

May we use the approximately 30 million seconds in 5783 in a way that makes us deserve more of the same, year after year.

At the end of the Torah we are bidden to choose life, “Uvacharta v’Chayim” Let us make the best of every second we have to add meaning and joy to life, to sustain and uphold life, and to ease the burdens of others. My Metrocard offers me the choice to add time or value for my subway ride. Let us add both time and value to 5783, and may we all be around to make the same commitments to 5784.

What can be a more amazing way to begin a new year, than by bearing new life?

5 OZ families were blessed with baby boys in the last 2 weeks! May they all give their families a lifetime of joy and nachas. We wish new parents, Danny and Ayala Ehrlich Mazel tov, on the birth of their son, and Mazel tov to Mark & Vivian Gelberman on the birth of a grandson to their children Moshe & Becca.

Alisa joins me in wishing everyone a Shana Tova umetuka. May we all be inscribed in the book of life, good health, and prosperity.
