CLICK HERE FOR THE OZ ANNUAL DINNER
Dear OZ family,
I express profound gratitude on behalf of the shul for the beautiful dinner we had last evening at the Museum for Jewish Heritage in Battery Park. Every aspect of the evening was so well crafted and prepared by a large group of staff, committee chairs, and volunteers - and their preparation and hard work paid off very well. The honorees included a broad array of the constituencies of our community and there was so much good will permeating the entire event.
We now look forward to preparations for celebrating the 150th anniversary of the shul, which is this coming year, as well as the 100th anniversary of the building on 95th Street. Dr. Jeff Korenman, who heads our security committee, keeps us safe and sound behind the scenes. He is also preparing for the celebrations of these auspicious events , so please keep an open eye on upcoming programming. OZ has a long and fascinating history that we will showcase in the coming months and years. You can also check out the display cases in the shul lobby, as well as the walls leading up to the office for shul history.
Another interesting OZ fact. A student from our conversion program just gave birth and I attached a picture from her son’s Bris celebration. The picture is of Rabbi Adam Resnick, the mother, Moriya, and a relative of her father, Roberto Clemente Jr. The baby’s name is Benaya ben Eliran Gluzman, the great-grandson of the Hall of Famer, Roberto Clemente.
Have a great day!
Stay well, healthy and be excellent.
Rabbi Allen Schwartz
