FROM THE RABBI'S DESK
Dear OZ family,
Greetings from Netanya,
Most of the children from Beit Elazraki have been settled someplace for the rest of the summer. That means that they have a place at a relative or a friend, or parents who are unable to care for their child make the effort to do so for a few weeks before the new school year begins.
There are about 30 kids though, who have no place to go at all, and these are the kids we’ll be working with this coming week. Shabbos will hopefully be relatively quiet.
I was asked by a woman whose conversion I oversaw, if I could be the Mesader Kiddushin at her wedding a week from tonight. She is marrying a man with 8 children. I asked her where the wedding was. (This conversation was a few months ago). She said it was in Netanya, which is where we are. Netanya is a big city, so I asked where in Netanya and she said Kiryat Sanz. There are a number of new wedding halls and hotels in Sanz so my next question was answered, 5 Rechov Tarfon. Beit Elazraki is 7 Rechov Tarfon.
What are the chances?
I also have regards to whomever may remember, from Vicky Wu, who also became a Jew by choice, and she is doing very well here in Israel.
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for the many birthday wishes I have so far received. I’m a year older than the Rebbitzen again.
Stay well and healthy.
