Dear OZ family,

The shock of the sudden and tragic passing of Tom Weiss is still with us, but I am sending a brief message that I believe Tom would want to have delivered. He loved every aspect of his Jewish observance. He loved it so much that he usually sang about it any time he could. I recall that he particularly loved saying the Blossom Blessing in the month of Nisan. The blooming trees remind us new beginnings, and “Hachodesh Hazeh Lachem Rosh Chodashim”, and Tom used to join a group to say this blessing “B’rov Am”.

There are 4 pear trees lined up right in front of 175 W 93rd St., from the corner of Amsterdam towards Columbus. There is also a pear tree at the corner of 75th and Riverside. May Tom’s pure Neshama bloom in Gan Eden in perfect repose.
